We’d love to hear the story behind your username!
My username is Elizabuff (a combination of Elizabeth plus Buff, my nickname). I am also a member as EUROPE 72 but don’t use that account, although it’s what I first logged onto ICHC as about 4-5 years ago. That name comes from a reference to a Grateful Dead album/tour (once a hippie, always a hippie!).

How long have you been a member of the Cheezburger community and what made you want to join?
Altogether about 5 years I think. I joined because my younger sister (now deceased) would send me LOLS through email and I got intrigued and I loved the idea of captioning having been a comedy writer in a past life in Chicago theatre and because I adore all creatures!

What do you look for in a Cheez friend, and what’s the best way to make a new friend?
I look for friendly, intelligent, kind and creative folks of all ages. If I like a LOL someone has done, I look at their other LOLs, and if I like those too I request friendship.

What is your favorite site on Cheezburger and why?
I like SET PHASERS TO LOL, ANIMAL CAPSHUNZ, and so many others I can’t list them all!

What is it about Cheezburger that makes you happy?
The ability to laugh and smile at the LOLs, the social relationships with the users, the creative aspect of captioning, and the very helpful and nice user support.

Tell us something super interesting about yourself—an embarrassing story, a quirky habit, something that will make us laugh!
I’m a mad crocheter, mostly free-form items. I was in Chicago theatre onstage and off for many years, was a bartender also for many years and also a techie in healthcare info systems (ugh!). I do a fabulous karaoke imitation of Ethel Merman singing various rock and roll hits, but only if I’m inebriated. I have two grown daughters (Jenn and Eden), an amazing husband, Richard, and a wondrous new grandbaby, Sadie. I also have two marvelous rescued cats: Jerry Garcia and Lolly. I’ve had probably about 30 or so animals in my life throughout my 61 years (but never all at once!).

If you could create a new feature for Cheezburger members to use on our sites what would it be, and why do we need it?
I was thinking of some kind of silly weekly gazette with an advice column, silly news stories, crime report, and a social page – all with animals of course! I did suggest it to JeffCatsBookClub.

What else do you like to do when you’re not on the Internet?
I crochet, I read, I walk all over the place, I try to get work as an editorial proofreader (from one of my other past lives), I babysit, I cat and house sit, I rescue animals and volunteer at no-kill animal shelters when possible. I love to write but am not published and rarely share my work with anyone but very close family and friends.
