Happy Monday to all of you! We have an exciting week ahead, with lots of premieres, strange holidays and even a creepy movie.
This week there is a lot going on in television. Tonight the midseason premiere of Bones is back on FOX, and The Carrie Diaries (about the life of young Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City) premieres on the CW at 8 p.m. Wednesday is the return of American Idol—let’s just hope there’s someone on the show who can give that cat up above a run for her money—and Thursday is the premiere of Archer. And if movies are more your thing, celebrated Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (known best for Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy) is back with another film coming out this Friday, Mama. Since there are few things creepier than disturbed small children communicating with demonic spirits…I think this is going to be a nail-biter.
Also, today is National Clean Off Your Desk Day and Dress Up Your Pet Day! Thursday is Appreciate a Dragon Day, which is why I will leave you with this:

My first *thot* was a name that wouldn’t be forgotten, with the love of soft cat fur, a touch of blue for my favorite color, and pinching off flower petals one-by-one while reciting “He furrgets me.. He furrgetmenot.” All my cheezfrends know me as *furrgy* with a lowercase f (for friendliness), and they know I’m fun crazy.

How long have you been a member of the Cheezburger community and what made you want to join?
May 22, 2013 will be my 4th anniFURsary on ICHC! There are so many reasons why ICHC is my favorite place in the world. I love the lolspeak, the photos, the peeps, the options for creating lolz, plus the ability to fave other people’s cleverness!

What do you look for in a Cheez friend, and what’s the best way to make a new friend?
It’s easy to find Cheezfrends by sending a friend request. I look for commonalities like my age group, similar interests, people I find to be funny. I won’t tolerate the F word or any form of cruelty. Many folks are fun to interact with through messages, and ICHC makes it easy to reach out. Some peeps make awareness lolz, such as those to help homeless animals get adopted. We are a supportive community; there for each other in congrats and condolences. Anytime I have a tough day or need a laugh, I come here and it cheers me right up!

After the New Years Day celebrations have come and gone, January can seem like a slow month holiday wise. But we’ve discovered that it is in fact quite the month for all those warm things you love to eat and drink over the winter months. January is Hot Tea Month, National Oatmeal Month and National Soup Month—and of course we’ve found some fantastic posts from our sites to share with you in celebration! Welcome back to life after the holidays! It has been a crazy couple of weeks, hasn’t it?
Anyway, there are some exciting things coming up this week…from music to movies to quirky holidays you’re going to love.

In music we have some exciting albums coming out today—Dropkick Murphys release their new album Signed & Sealed In Blood, and Broadcast releases the first album since the death of their incredibly talented singer Trish Keenan. The album Berberian Sound Studio (the soundtrack for the movie of the same name) will feature some vocals from the late singer.

There are also a few highly anticipated flicks coming out this Friday—Zero Dark Thirty starring Jessica Chastain will finally be released to the nation (a handful of cinemas already have it), A Haunted House starring Marlon Wayans hits theaters, as does the star-studded period crime film Gangster Squad.

And in case you just didn’t get enough celebrating done over the holidays we do have some random and strange holidays coming up for you this week. Tomorrow is Bubble Bath Day, which is, of course, super important and should be observed by all! Thursday is House Plant Appreciation Day (which means it’s time I remember to water them), and Sunday is Make Your Dream Come True Day. Because isn’t that just a nice way to end the week?

We hope your holidays have been wonderful so far! Today we’re happy to be back with another exciting featured user. This week we’re spotlighting ToolBee, a Cheezburger user who has contributed much to our community and who continuously makes us smile with his clever sense of humor.

We’d love to hear the story behind your username!
Well, the “Tool” part first. It’s one of my favourite bands, plus I’m a bit of a techie so I use tools too! Also I CAN bee a total tool. The “Bee” part—it’s my family name. Rly, if you say “the bee” you say my name. Also, I consider it to bee my mission to make bees moar lovable, cuz we need the buzzing critters!

How long have you been a member of the Cheezburger community and what made you want to join?
I think I joined in the spring of 2011 after having a daily peek for half a year or so first. There’s a dutch website that uses ICHC LOLs frequently and they put me on your track!

What do you look for in a Cheez friend, and what’s the best way to make a new friend?
Mutual interests or a shared sense of humor will earn you a FR. Or if you fav a lot of my LOLs. Gotta take care of the fans, don’t we? Also, getting FRs from friends of friends is a nice way to meet new peeps!

What is your favorite site on Cheezburger and why?
If I say Señor GIF you WILL believe, won’tcha?

Merry Christmas Eve to all of you!
Though many of us at Cheezburger have already scurried away to our holiday destinations, we’d like to share with you some things coming up this week! Of course tonight is Christmas Eve, which means reindeer, presents and lots of reasons to drink oodles of alcohol during all of that family time! Good thing today is also National Egg Nog Day—now you know just what you should be imbibing.

Tomorrow is Christmas Day and the release of many exciting holiday movies. Les Miserables, starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway opens, along with the new Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained and Parental Guidance starring Billy Crystal.

Christmas has always been a pretty active day throughout history—in fact on Christmas in 1949 Einstein published his theory of gravitation, Elvis was called up to join the Army in 1957, and in 1968 astronauts orbited the moon.

Make your Christmas week grand as well and Happy Holidays from your friends at Cheezburger!

For those of you who are still a bit nervous about tomorrow being the big day (you know, the END OF THE WORLD day), we’d like to share something from a little organization you may have heard of called NASA. With this video NASA hopes to alleviate any fear and confusion about the Mayan Calendar prediction of Doomsday on December 21, 2012—by giving us all a healthy dose of scientific fact.

See? Now you can breathe a bit easier.

And remember to focus on the positive (since Friday is also “Look on the Bright Side Day”). Many scholars are seeing this as a chance for a new beginning and not as the “Doomsday” that some predicted. Maybe it’s time to start focusing on how we can make this world a more peaceful, happy and safe place.

Happy Tuesday to all of you—it’s time for a late edition of Coming Up This Week!
This week is filled with holiday preparations, music and possibly the end of the world? Looks like we have a busy week ahead.

Since this holiday week isn’t exactly the time for new album releases, we’ve decided to celebrate some entertaining Christmas albums of the year. Most people seem to agree that some fun ones this year are Lady Antebellum‘s On This Winter’s Night, Rod Stewart‘s Merry Christmas, Baby (his first Christmas collection), and John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John’s album, This Christmas.

We should probably also mention that Friday is the day that the Mayan calendar ends…which depending on your beliefs could be a pretty big deal. Or not. Luckily it’s also “Look on the Bright Side Day” for those of you thinking you may need some cheering up. Also, Sunday is Festivus! First made famous on Seinfeld, it’s a holiday for everyone—good, clean non-denominational fun.
